ADAB – Association of Development Agencies in Bangladesh

Message From the

Director

As the Director of ADAB, I am honored to share our recent strides in strengthening Bangladesh’s NGO landscape through enhanced coordination, policy advocacy, rights promotion, and capacity development. At a time when our nation faces both emerging challenges and exciting opportunities, ADAB remains steadfast in its mission to empower civil society actors and contribute meaningfully to inclusive, equitable development.

ADAB continues to play a catalytic role in building a robust, responsive NGO network across the country. Through national and district-level conferences, workshops, and collaborative platforms, we promote meaningful dialogue and partnership among NGOs, government institutions, civil society, and development partners. We aim to foster a culture of shared learning, innovation, and cooperation that can address the multifaceted challenges faced by communities today, including climate change, economic disparity, and social inclusion.

In our rights-based approach, ADAB is at the forefront of advocating for marginalized and vulnerable populations. From grassroots campaigns to multi-stakeholder workshops, we amplify voices that are often unheard, working to ensure that every individual’s dignity and rights are respected, protected, and fulfilled in alignment with our constitutional values and international commitments.

Recognizing the power of policy to shape outcomes, we remain deeply engaged in influencing legislation and national frameworks that directly impact NGO operations and community development. Our policy advocacy efforts focus on creating an enabling environment for NGOs to function with autonomy, accountability, and alignment with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Capacity development remains central to our efforts. Through tailored training, mentoring, and institutional support, we are helping our Member Organizations enhance their governance, operational systems, and program quality. This investment in institutional strength is crucial for ensuring long-term, community-led transformation.

I take this opportunity to sincerely thank all our Member Organizations, the Executive Committee, development partners, and supporters for their continued trust, collaboration, and commitment. Your passion and perseverance are the driving force behind ADAB’s visibility and impact.

As we look to the future, I invite all stakeholders—local and international—to stand with ADAB in our shared pursuit of a just, democratic, secular, and environmentally resilient society, free from poverty, injustice, and exclusion.

Thank you for your unwavering support.
